#MeettheLibrary Episode 1

Balancing a busy life? Our CQUni libraries are open later in term time, providing longer hours in study friendly spaces. Our Peer Advisors man these extended hours, fellow students ready and waiting to help with your library, and IT enquiries. Just like you, some of our Peer Advisors are pursuing new career paths while balancing busy lives. Let’s meet some!

Raven from Bundaberg

Raven Wolfram is a third-year student enrolled in a Bachelor of Psychological Science and aims to go all the way to achieve their PhD. They would love to use the skills developed as a CQUni Rising Stars Fellow to make a real difference in local and wider communities. Raven’s ultimate motivator is being a positive, independent, successful role model for their “little guys”. In between work, study and family, Raven chills out with some yoga and some special couch ‘n cat time.

Raven sees their role as a Peer Advisor as an excellent opportunity to empower other students on their learning journey, guiding them through our online resources and welcoming them to our library spaces. They recognise the positive impact that connecting with the CQUni community has on student confidence and study success.

Tash from Noosa

Tash Bing is a third year Bachelor of Laws student with a keen interest in postgraduate studies in Law, Social Innovation and Linguistics. She loves the Noosa campus, as it’s a friendly place to meet up and study with other students. Tash balances her busy life as a mum and distance student by spending relaxing time with her four children at the local wake park, lakes and beaches.

In the library, Tash enjoys sharing and gaining knowledge on how students manage their learning. This role has allowed Tash to get more involved with the campus and gain valuable work experience.

Brendon from Brisbane

Brendon Trinh is currently completing a Masters of Clinical Chiropractic. Brendon has a passion for arts and photography and spending time with his daughter. His motivation to change his career from Finance to Chiropractic is his desire to help people.

His role as a Peer Advisor gives him even more opportunity to help fellow students with any issues they are having, like finding texts and database searches.

Helen from Mackay

Helen is in her second year of a Bachelor of Medical Imaging, making a career change from a podiatrist. A keen photographer and storm chaser, Helen’s spectacular lightning photography was recently included in the BOM (Bureau of Meteorology) Weather Calendar. Next stop, underwater photography!

Helen appreciates the opportunity to help other mature age students in the library with online systems. She is excited to watch their confidence grow as they open the door to all the information the library can offer. Pro tip: Helen recommends connecting with a librarian through booking an “Ask the Librarian” session!
