A day in life of an International Student from Brazil in Sydney

Sydney CQUniversity campus

Studying a University course can take a long time to complete, so it is important that you do not need to keep your whole living in Australia only for studies, it is possible to have a lot of fun in one of the best countries in the world!

As a student from Brazil who has just completed studying the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration at CQUniversity Sydney campus, I will show you a typical day of my life, it will be during the semester and a weekday.

Morning time:

Class starts at 9 am to 12 pm, so I wake up at 7:30 am. My first meal is the most important of the day, followed by a shower and nice clothes, I’m walking to CQUniversity with just a quick stop to buy a coffee.

At CQUniversity:

When I arrive, I like to compliment the security every day, I also meet friends, they are all international students too, so most of them come alone to Sydney, and they are also looking for new friendships.

Class starts, I like to sit in the front and during the class I ask as many questions I can. At the break time, another coffee. Class starts again, I do the same thing until the class has finished.

At work:

I do not have too much to say about it, it is only a normal job, I rent apartments for short term. I work from 1 to 5 pm, so I still have time to do a lot of things.

After work:

This is where the most fun part comes.

I start looking for something to do with my friends, so many options; we can go to beaches, parks, restaurants, maybe a nice bar or a pub, museums, art galleries, cinema, or any other of the many touristic attractions that Sydney has, without mentioning the many attractions that happen in Sydney each week.

After a few discussions, we decided to go to the Powerhouse Museum, especially into the Sherlock Holmes exhibition, because of this event, the museum will close at 9 pm and learning new things are never enough. Incredibly, we did not have enough time to see everything, it was so big, so we need to come back another day.

Night-time:

I’m so tired at the end of the day that the only thing I want is to go home and relax watching some TV.

Bonus – During the weekend:

Studies are never finished, so during the semester I normally go to the library, where I can have some peace and find so many books to help me with my assessments and exams studies. After studies, I still like to find a good restaurant or another place to chill a little.

Bonus – At holidays:

I like to discover new places around Sydney, even places far from the city, and after traveling a little bit around Sydney, the last weekend before class starts, I decided to go to the zoo; it is a great place to go and learn a little about Australian animal’s history, the iconic kangaroos, koala and the Tasmania Devil.

After all, you can choose of between so many options about what to do in Sydney that it takes days to see everything!

I am a very easy-going guy, I love to travel, and I think the best way to know a country is by renting a car and driving through the country. I love sports and meet new people, I think that international people are amazing, since I can learn a little bit of their culture, because it is culture that moves the world. I will try to use all my experiences as an international student at CQUniversity in order to help you to choose the right choice.
