#AskaMentor for CQUni’s best student hotspots

Let’s face it– good food and even better coffee is essential in the life of a university student - how else will you get through those gruelling hours of study?

Lucky for you, our student mentors Anita, Marsha, Railala, Yudhi and Bel have investigated the places you need to visit to help get you through your day. They’ve also discovered the online sites you need to have bookmarked so you can check out the hottest student spots - no matter how or where you study!

BRISBANE

It’s all about location, location, location at our Brisbane campus. Right in the heart of the city, you’re spoilt for choice with an array of coffee and food shops in the surrounding streets, and nearby Myer Centre. For added convenience, the campus also has a café on ground level which is a great go-to if you are in a rush (which we know most uni students usually are).

NOOSA

You’ve got everything you need right at your doorstep at the Noosa campus as it is located inside a complex which includes a café, childcare centre, pharmacy and several other outlets! Nearby, The Goodchaps Cafe makes great coffee and takes orders for lunches that will be ready just in time for your residential school breaks, or before your next class! The Noosa campus also offers a 24-hour computer lab. See the staff on reception to organise your access.

ROCKHAMPTON

The Bookshop will be your best friend for your textbook and stationery needs, and the Library and online resources will be of great help too. Now for the coffee – inside the Library, there’s a coffee shop for a quick caffeine fix, and Espresso Haven is near Student Reception. Don’t forget the Refectory in the Commercial Centre has great places to relax with plenty of food options, and of course we can’t forget about the Birdcage Bar upstairs which is the perfect place to chill out, or party on once you’ve submitted those assignments!

SYDNEY

The CQUni Sydney campus is the location to be if you’re in need of a caffeine fix before your classes. With more than five coffee shops neighbouring the campus and a canteen inside the campus on Level 3, finding a delicious blend to suit your taste buds is easier than ever.

Our Cairns campus have you covered, developing great relationships with some of the local shops to get you the best student discounts! We’ve never met a student who doesn’t like a good discount!

Ashleigh Truscott (https://cqunilife.com)

I am a CQUni alumnus, who graduated back in 2010. Straight after graduating, I took a job in media, and later returned to CQUni working full-time as Student Communications Assistant. I remember all too well the panic fuelled ‘all-nighters’, getting lost on campus, confusion over systems, and the general feeling of being unsure. I'm excited to share my experiences and provide some insights into university life.
