Hi, I’m Carolyn Armstrong and I’ve just completed a Bachelor of Nursing with Distinction at CQUni… from my hometown of Broome!
Despite being an odd 2000 kilometre journey from the nearest CQUniversity campus in Perth, I was able to complete my studies online – a feat which was made all the more easier by my time spent at the Broome Study Hub.
If you didn’t already know, CQUni doesn’t just have campuses located around Australia, it also has smaller study hubs and centres designed to give students in regional and rural areas an opportunity to drop in and utilise facilities such as the Internet, computing and printing services, as well as access support and assistance from the friendly staff.
CQUni specialises in dealing with online students, and covers all bases with centres, hubs and sites in Broome, Busselton, Charters Towers, Cooma, Geraldton, Karratha and Port Pirie, in addition to the 16 established campuses across the country!
The CQUniversity Study Hub in Broome provided me with a supportive, well-equipped and quiet space where I could focus without interruption. I’m sure my fellow students would agree that home can often be quite noisy and distracting, so it was really helpful having a quiet place to study, and get some extra assistance if I needed it. The Broome Study Hub Coordinator was always on hand to answer questions, and provide me with personalised course advice and assistance!
Studying and working in a regional and remote area has exposed me to a diversity of experience. I wouldn’t have had it any other way, as I’ve had very fortunate opportunities to work in a variety of professional nursing areas which I may not have had in the city.
I am now officially graduated and looking forward to becoming a Registered Nurse, but I will miss the CQUni community and especially the Broome Study Hub!
