Chasing your dreams? Love to get involved in the university community? Meet some like-minded students working in CQUni libraries! We caught up with some of our Library Peer Advisors to find out what drives them to make a difference in the future and how CQUni is helping them achieve that dream. Peer Advisors are students too, working study friendly hours in the library, keeping our libraries open longer and ready to assist you with library and IT enquiries. Let’s meet them!
Bella from Sydney
Bella Davaajav is enrolled in a Master of Human Resource Management. Bella has come from Mongolia to study in Australia and chose CQUniversity for the warm and friendly multicultural environment it provides. She has enjoyed many of the opportunities offered here for study work and fun, having been a part of the Chancellors Cup, student leadership conference, Pathway to Success program and Executive Coaching program Bella is also an active member of the Campus Life Committee. She looks forward to starting her professional career here in Australia.
As a student Peer Advisor Bella loves helping students to find the right information, and resources, and is always excited to meet new students each term.
Shirley from Melbourne
Shirley Boon is from Malaysia, currently in the final term of a Master of Project Management. Passionate about being a part of real and sustainable social change, she has been a part of community projects both locally and globally. Shirley values the learning, volunteering, leadership and engagement opportunities offered here at CQUniversity. Her roles have included Student Mentor, Campus Life Committee, Casual lecturer, International Student Ambassador, and Project Officer in the Social Innovation office.
Working in the library gives Shirley the opportunity to engage with and assist students from diverse backgrounds and culture. As a book lover, she enjoys every part of the role.
Georgia from Gladstone
Georgia dreams of sharing her passion for cooking and nutrition with the next generation and is making that dream a reality with her current enrolment in a Bachelor of Education (Secondary). She likes to keep busy, cooking, house sitting and regular games of Netball and touch.
In the library, as an experienced student, Georgia can share her knowledge with others. She is a big fan of the longer library opening hours during term time, especially for distance students and sees the library study rooms as the perfect place to knuckle down with a group to get assessments done.
