The #CQUniBucketList is all about expanding your limits, putting yourself out of your comfort zone and saying yes to the abundance of opportunities at your fingertips in the University journey. We’ve created the Bucket List to help you make the most of your time as a University student, so when you walk across that stage at graduation, you’re doing so with absolutely no regrets.
So why not expand your horizons today and start ticking off those Bucket List items that test your limits? Let me tell you how…
#11 Go to the Student Leadership Conference
The Student Leadership Conference is a life-changing event which will boost your energy, inspire action and ignite your passion for personal leadership. You’ll participate in empowering workshops, network with fellow CQUni students and staff and be inspired by amazing guest speakers.
Not only will it be the experience of a lifetime which will set you up for future leadership success, but it will look great on your CV! Registrations for this year’s conference in Gladstone open in August 2018.

#29 - Expand your horizons – get to know students from at least two other countries
At CQUni, we have students who come from all walks of life around the world – in fact there is 115 countries represented in our student cohort! That makes it super easy to find at least two people who come from a different country and have had a different upbringing and experiences to you. Learn about their culture and customs, their family and what life is like in their home country.
It won’t just expand your horizons and give you a greater sense of global understanding, but you might just make some lifelong friends. Who knows, maybe one day you’ll go visit your new friends in their home country!
#35 Apply for a Global Voices Scholarship
CQUniversity is a sponsor of Global Voices, a not-for-profit that identifies and develops the next generation of Australian leaders by providing practical experience in foreign policy and international relations. There’s opportunities to apply to attend multiple prestigious forums including; United Nations, OECD, World Bank, IMF, APEC, and G20 in cities around the world, like the recent OECD conference in Paris!
Global Voices is a once in a lifetime experience that not many will ever have the opportunity to take part in, but lucky for you our CQUni students have access to incredible opportunities like this, and they’re not to be missed!
Read more about your fellow student’s experiences at Global Voices, and the next time this scholarship comes up – don’t be afraid to believe in yourself and apply!
#36 Make an international student feel at home
Imagine what it would be like to move to a country where you don’t know a single person, you don’t speak the language or recognise the cultural norms and customs and you’re thrown into a new lifestyle so vastly foreign from the one you have always known. No doubt it would be confronting and intimidating, and in fact many of our international students experience culture shock during their time in Australia.
How rewarding would it be to help make their journey easier and more fulfilling simply by becoming their friend? At CQUni, we’re an inclusive family and we challenge you to make sure our international students feel a part of our family.
Making friends with an international student will also teach you things about the world you never knew existed, and ultimately enrich your own self-development and understanding.
#39 - Broaden your professional skills and opportunities – register for CQUni’s Career Hub

#50 - Study overseas (for a week, a term or year)
By far one of the coolest things you can do at CQUni is study overseas!
At CQUni you can be what you want to be, where you want to be. Experience a different lifestyle, culture and environment while earning credit towards your degree and without lengthening the duration of your study. Studying abroad is an experience that is guaranteed to stay with you for the rest of your life.
CQUGlobal Outbound programs allow current CQUniversity students to experience life and study from a choice of over 30 countries across six continents!
One of my biggest study regrets is not taking advantage of this once in a life time opportunity, so make sure this is something you don’t miss.
Why not volunteer in Cambodia for a couple of weeks, or travel to the USA for a term to gain worldly experience, or live the UK lifestyle for a year? This is your chance!
You can find more about these unique and incredibly special opportunities at the CQUGlobal page. This is one you NEED to tick off your list!
