‘I haven’t got enough time.’
‘I don’t have good enough grades.’
‘How do I even apply?’
If you’ve ever had these thoughts when the word ‘scholarships’ is mentioned, you’re not alone. They might seem intimidating, and only for high-achievers, but the truth is, CQUniversity has a wide range of scholarships and all students should check their eligibility.
Aside from academic performance, other scholarships focus on criteria such as course of study, home location, community engagement or low personal or family income.
If you’re still not convinced, check out our top four reasons why you should check your eligibility for a scholarship.
#1 The financial benefit
In all honesty, university is not cheap, but it’s an important investment in your future. Wouldn’t it be nice though to not have to worry about paying off your student loan? Scholarships can help ease some of that worry and stress, giving you more mental energy to focus on your studies.
#2 Receiving a scholarship looks good on your resume
Not just because you secured a scholarship, but because you took the initiative to apply for one. Taking that extra step can not only pay off financially but can make you look good in front of future employers.
#3 Industry contacts
Depending on the scholarship, you may be exposed to industry professionals and have the opportunity to network and make contacts.
#4 Searching for a Scholarship is easy!
We’ve taken the leg work out of finding a scholarship. To search, all you have to do is follow the link at www.cqu.edu.au/scholarships and use the search function or drop-down menus.

I received a full ‘hardship scholarship’ when I first started uni. After two years I left Uni and started back 9 years later. Would that still apply?
