CQUniversity’s student residence is my home away from home throughout the academic year. My goal is to maintain a high GPA whilst still being able to manage work, friends and fun.
My name is Ashley Fisser and staying at the student residence is definitely helping me balance all of the above. Everyone around me is encouraging and supportive and I feel like I’ve been afforded every opportunity to do well in life and in my studies. I really feel like I’ve matured this year, stepped out of my comfort zone and expanded my horizons. I’ve taken part in so many exciting activities like the Uni ball, the Colour Run and the Res Festival. It’s also great value for money and I feel safe knowing there’s always help around the corner if I need it.
With such a great support network, I’ve found it easy to take advantage of professional development opportunities and rewards such as the Professorial Lecture awards for Nursing and Midwifery; and I’m now a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. I’m studying a Bachelor of Nursing at the Rockhampton Campus. Studying via distance, I’ve become very involved online and I now have friends Australia-wide! This course boasts some of Australia’s leading lecturers and teaching methods.
So, if you are in any way worried about living away from home while studying, my advice to you is to live at student residences.
