In western countries, afternoon tea is really popular and the tradition is quite different from that in my home country of China. In China, people prefer doing business and chatting through meal. However, here in Australia most of people here go to a cafe to enjoy a cup of coffee or a dessert. I really enjoy this kind of lifestyle and have gradually become used to drinking coffee to refresh myself at the start of the day.
Last weekend, I found a really popular kind of cake in Sydney - a strawberry, watermelon cake with rose scented cream. One of the cafes which sells this special cake is in a trendy area of Newtown. Another is in Sydney city central where people have to wait in a long queue to have a taste of it.
I enjoy exploring new cafes and I’m a big fan of desserts. I find that every dessert is a piece of art. So if you’re like me, don’t be afraid to get out there and check out all the cafes and sample all the wonderful sweets on offer. And if you know of any great coffee and cake shops in Sydney, I’d love to hear your tips too!
Nice Post Helena 🙂
