So you have found the perfect course at CQUniversity and are ready to apply!
Where to start? We have put together a list of FAQs to assist you.
I’m ready to apply.
Tell me about the application process, Confirmation of Enrolment (COE), processing times and scholarships.
Q: How do I apply?
We recommend applying well ahead of the term you wish to start. Refer to our key dates for more information.
Q: Are scholarships available to international students?
A: There are a range of scholarships available to international students. These are available from CQUniversity and external organisations such as the Australian Government.
The International Student Scholarship is a popular scholarship and is open to students wishing to study an undergraduate or postgraduate program on-campus who meet the academic criteria at CQUniversity. We also have a scholarship for those who want to study in a regional campus – International Student Scholarship – Regional.
You can indicate your interest in a scholarship when you apply for your course. These scholarships reward successful applicants with a 20% reduction in tuition fees, subject to meeting terms and conditions.
Q: What is Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) and why is this necessary?
A: All international students who wish to study in Australia must meet the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) criteria.
CQUniversity is required to screen and determine if prospective students meet the Genuine Temporary Entrant criteria as defined by the Department of Home Affairs.
Q: How can I receive my COE (Confirmation of Enrolment)?
A: To receive your COE (Confirmation of Enrolment), ensure all conditions (if any) on your offer letter have been met before accepting and paying.
If you received a conditional offer, you must meet the condition/s stated in your offer to be able to accept the offer and enrol in CQUniversity.
Please submit documents to meet condition/s through iStart or via your agent if you applied through one. You should not accept the offer unless you are able to meet all conditions.
Q: When will I receive my COE?
A: After CQUniversity has received notice that you have accepted your offer, received documents to meet any conditions and processed your payment (this can take up to 4 business days), we will issue your COE to you or your agent (if an authorised agent has assisted you with your application).
This usually takes 3–5 business days.
Q: What should I do after receiving my COE?
A: A COE is required for your application for a student visa to study and live in Australia legally.
Follow the instructions on how to apply for a student visa or contact your local Australian Government overseas office to find out how to apply, processing times and what documents you need to support your application.
Q: If my application has been rejected, can I reapply?
A: If your application has been rejected, you won’t be able to reapply, unless your circumstances have changed.
I’ve applied, what now?
