You may have already felt the hype of our upcoming Orientation events. The information sessions, stalls, and social events certainly create a buzz this time of year.
Whether you plan to study online or on-campus, attending an event at the campus closest to you will help you make the most of your learning journey. So don’t miss out! Event registration via RSVP is compulsory for all attendees. Students must register before 24 February.
Take this opportunity to settle in, to find out how studying at university works, to learn about our great facilities and support services, and connect with academic staff, scholarship and exchange programs, clubs and societies. Attending Orientation really is the best thing you can do to prepare yourself.
With so much on offer, you probably don’t need any more reasons to attend Orientation, but if you’re still unconvinced, don’t take it from us. We asked our Student Mentors why you should attend, and here’s what they said…
If you can make it to orientation, I highly encourage you to do so…there is lots to absorb! You might meet people doing the same degree or units as you, and you can meet some of CQUni’s fabulous staff. You might also find an amazing student mentor to help you through.

Orientation allows you to familiarise yourself with all the services on offer at CQUni. I personally was quite nervous about attending Orientation, however I found that a number of students were just as nervous as me, and we bonded over that. Orientation is not only fun but it allows you to gain information about workshops being held by the Academic Learning Centre for writing and research tips.

Orientation provides a good overview of the University and the facilities offered. It also provides a great introduction to how Moodle works.

And Yudhi really sums it up - If you miss Orientation then you will miss the most important thing in starting your university life.
Attending an Orientation event is compulsory for all new international students. We encourage new domestic students to attend an event at their nearest campus and complete the Countdown to CQUni (Orientation Online) Moodle unit.
Event registration via RSVP is compulsory for all attendees. Please find the event for your location here and RSVP by following the link on the event page before 24 February.
