CQUniversity Nursing alumnus Anna Anderson has come a long way since graduating in 2016. She now works in the Paediatric Ward at the Rockhampton Hospital as a Registered Nurse and serves as an inspiration to new students - so much so that she was recently a guest speaker at the Bachelor of Nursing Orientation Day for the 2018 cohort.

Yes, I am a CQU Alumni! I graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing in 2016.
Why should people study at CQUni?
CQUni has so many wonderful learning opportunities while you are studying. It is flexible and very accommodating to all students. There are so many amazing people who go out of their way to help you get the most out of your degree. The Nursing program especially offers a variety of overseas trips to make your studies and health training experiences go further. It truly is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that opens your eyes to the world on what healthcare is like in developing and developed countries compared to Australia.

What do you love most about your role?
I am a Registered Nurse, and I just love going to work. I love my job and the people that surround me. Nursing isn’t always an easy job, however working together and having each other’s support is what gets you through each day. I love being able to go to work and make a difference in someone’s life, whether that be by rubbing their back or sending them home because they have recovered. It is always the little things that make you love what you do, and that’s what makes you go back the next day!
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
When I’m not at work I like to travel, visit family, or just relax somewhere with friends. Anything that doesn’t involve staying at home really! It’s always good to have days to just sit back relax and appreciate the life you’ve been blessed with!
