CQUniversity Emerald student Rulande Kemp has been a very busy young woman whilst studying a Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Business. Since starting her studies in 2014, Rulande has been awarded a CQUniversity Student Award and the Anne Murray & Co Solicitors Prize (in 2016) and she recently travelled to a music school in Los Angeles.
What is your favourite film of all time?
It would definitely have to be Gladiator.
What was a recent highlight in your life?
When I attended a music school in Los Angeles.
Has there been any awkward moments while you’ve been working/studying at CQUni?
Oh absolutely. I sat an exam once, with a cappuccino chocolate powder ring around my mouth. I wasn’t aware until I went to the bathroom afterwards.
What was the moment that made you choose your career?
I think I was about five, picking flowers from my grandmother’s garden and then trying to sell them to her. I think everyone knew I was going to be a businesswoman.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
Anything music related.

My family famous chicken pasta that I invented accidentally.
What would be your last meal?
A Big Mac with no pickles.

What is the luckiest thing that has happened to you?
Moving to Australia.
