My name is Georgia and I have been studying with CQUniversity since November 2015. I began STEPS to gain entry into my desired undergraduate degree.
When spinal surgery prevented me from finishing my final year of high school, I was faced with a difficult decision; repeat grade 12 or find an alternate route into University.
CQUniversity’s enabling course was the best option for me, especially given that I had the opportunity to complete the course via distance education. The flexibility of distance education allowed me to complete my work at my own pace. I was able to watch the lectures whilst laying down which was the best position for my back. I was also able to pause lectures when my back needed a break and resume the lecture at a later time. I completed STEPS full-time for my first term and then part-time for the remaining terms to accommodate my rehabilitation and casual job as a Student Ambassador for CQUni.
The best thing about STEPS is the constant support and encouragement from lecturers and course coordinators. They are always happy to help you over the phone or via email. STEPS offers invaluable skills and guidance when it comes to life as a university student.
The units are designed to teach you how to not only survive at CQUniversity but thrive.
STEPS has provided me with the opportunity to follow my dreams and I am now beginning the Bachelor of Medical Sonography and Graduate Diploma of Medical Sonography in Term 1, 2017. I would highly recommend CQUniversity’s STEPS course to anyone interested in studying. If you are worried about the workload of a degree or being able to complete the work itself, STEPS will help you immensely. My advice to anyone contemplating studying at CQUniversity is to give it a go.
You never know where the journey will take you but as Ralph Emerson said, ‘Life is a journey, not a destination.’
