CQUniversity Executive Assistant for VET Operations and Growth Lynn O’Connor is always full of motivation. When she’s not at her desk at the Rockhampton City Campus she’s heading outdoors for the latest adventure, camping or spending time with family and friends. One of her motto’s, “Be the best you can be”, is very close to CQUni’s slogan, “Be What You Want to Be” and no doubt helped her complete her Diploma of Business Administration last year.
Are you a CQUni Alumni? If so, what did you graduate in?
In December last year, I attended the Rockhampton Graduation and was awarded a Diploma of Business Administration. Previously, I also attained a Diploma of Management and Business.
What is your first memory?
Getting dressed up and being very excited to attend the Rockhampton Show with my parents and two older sisters.
Describe the greatest moment in your life so far?
I am very proud of my family including two beautiful daughters. In my younger years, I gained my Black Belt in tae kwon-do and was selected in an Australian ladies indoor cricket team - still proud of those achievements.
What is a motto or phrase that you live by?
I have three mottos I like to live life by: “Be the best that you can be”, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” and “The best view comes after the hardest climb”.
The weekend is free - what would you do?
I recently went snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef near Whitehaven Beach, but have been wanting to head to Capricorn Caves to do an abseiling adventure and I’d also like to do some camping or even head to Great Keppel Island.
Who is the most famous person you’ve ever met?
Possibly Patrick Rafter - When I was ‘a little’ younger, I competed in the Queensland/Australian tennis circuit and met Pat before his rise to fame. I also had the chance to meet Timomatic after one of his performances.
