My name is Tanya McIntyre and this is my 3rd year studying at CQUniversity, Bundaberg. It has been an eventful and rewarding experience putting all the pieces together to gain my degree. I was lucky enough to have been able to complete a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, as it is embedded in the first year of the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) program. So, after just one year of my degree I was qualified to be a Director of a Child Care Centre.
I initially struggled with juggling the demands of being a sole parent and studying full time however, the support that is available at CQUniversity Bundaberg is amazing. The Mentors. Lecturers and Staff at the Student Success Centre are so helpful. It is really comforting to know you are not alone and there is always someone there to help you through your journey. After my 1st year of study I took on several roles within CQUniversity. I currently hold roles as a Student Mentor, a member of the Bundaberg Campus Life Committee, the Coordinator of the Social Sub-committee as well as a Participation Assistant. I would never have considered taking on these roles without the support and encouragement I have received from my Course Coordinators, Lecturers and CQUniversity Staff.
I have found the lecturers know their students individually and are always happy to help. As the classes on campus are not very big, the tutorials are always interactive and accessible. An extra bonus about being a student is there are so many free activities and events to participate in; social events, a gym, fitness activities, Happy Hour and massages, to name a few. Bundaberg campus has a real supportive community atmosphere which makes it so easy to make friends and feel at home.
I know there are so many benefits to studying at CQUniversity Bundaberg; why would you study your degree anywhere else??
