CQUNI SPOTLIGHT - Featuring Jordan Mogg

Jordan is almost two years into his role as Manager of Corporate Accounting in the Financial Services Division. After graduating with a Bachelor of Accounting in 2007, he’s found his way back to CQUni to help keep its finances running. His love of family doesn’t just apply in his personal life, as he sees CQUni as a very large - and important community of staff and students.

What was a recent highlight of your life?

The birth of my first son Hedley, in May last year. All of a sudden he is almost one year old and my wife and I couldn’t imagine our life without him!

Are you a CQUni alumnus? If so, what did you graduate in?

Yes, I graduated with a Bachelor of Accounting in 2007. I am now also looking to enrol in CQUni’s MBA program.

What is the best thing about being at CQUni?

Being a part of an organisation that is always wanting to do better than before, and encouraging not only its students, but its staff as well.

What do you love most about your role?

I really enjoy being able to contribute not only to my team and division, but the wider University community.

Who has made an impact on your life? Why?

All of my grandparents have made an impact of my life, in one way or another. In particular, my (late) maternal grandfather (I was his favourite). My aunty recently told me he ‘got soft’ when us grandchildren came along. I will forever cherish the time we spent together, be it when he was picking me up from primary school when we lived in Adelaide, cycling around Hervey Bay on holidays, helping him with his computer problems (even over the phone 2000 km away). Whatever it was, we always had a laugh – it is the little things that you miss the most.

The weekend is free - what would you do?

If I can get out of town, possibly to Adelaide or Sydney – to see parents/grandparents. If not, a trip to the beach, or some friends over for a BBQ.

What is a motto or phrase that you live by?

Tomorrow is another day.
