The third and final day of competition at the 2019 Chancellor’s Cup really shook up the leader board as teams who had previously not been able to score a win in Touch Football or Basketball came into their own on the Soccer pitch. Rocky turned on some stunning weather for the teams competing in Day Two of the Chancellor’s Cup – Touch Football. It was another fun-filled day for our students showing off their sporting prowess, but for many they were learning how to play a brand-new sport and there were laughs a plenty.
To say Day One was a BIG day would be an absolute understatement, but it sure was a lot of fun. Teams played out the day with lots of passion and great sportsmanship and there were some very close match ups.
UniSport Nationals Division 2 on the Gold Coast, well it’s been and gone for another year. This year CQUniversity fielded its biggest team ever with student athletes coming together from campuses right across the CQU footprint to compete in Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Mixed Netball and Touch Football, Women’s Volleyball and Futsal and Men’s Soccer.Continue reading UniSport – From the Captain’s Log
51 students represented CQUniversity at the Australian University Games on the Gold Coast from September 27 to October 2. Co-Captained by one of Australia’s leading discus throwers, Taryn Gollshewsky, and men’s touch player Jackson Hughes, the CQUni Universals team represented in Athletics, Rugby Sevens, Men’s Touch, Mixed Touch and (with a strong international student contingent) the T20 Cricket.
