Orientation Our Way

In Term 2, CQUni is delivering a new personalised online Orientation experience, giving you more session options and the flexibility to learn about the topics that matter to you.

The interactive and personalised program will connect you with lecturers, support staff, alumni, and your fellow students – all from the comfort of home. Whether you’re a new or continuing student, there’s something for everyone with Orientation Our Way.

Orientation TV (OTV)

Orientation TV is a live webinar for new students, bringing you short, fast-paced, informative sessions including How to Uni, Student Life, and Course Essentials. International students must also attend a session called International 101. Attendance is compulsory.

Each session will be held twice throughout the week, and you can choose your preferred date and time to tune in.

Orientation Boost

Orientation Boost is a series of optional, online drop-in sessions, held during Orientation Week and the first two weeks of term. Among other topics, drop-in sessions will include:

  • Academic Skills Workshops
  • Student ID Card Help
  • Work, Social, Study Balance
  • Get to Know Your Campus
  • Meeting People and Networking

You get to choose what Boost sessions you want to attend, in addition to the compulsory OTV sessions.

All students are welcome to attend Boost sessions, including new and continuing students from all courses, including TAFE.

Check the MyCQU Student Portal for session information and access links.

Orientation Online

Orientation Online is a self-paced Moodle unit that can be accessed for your entire first term. It provides you with all the essential information you need to know, with videos and quizzes to introduce you to student systems and services.

Orientation virtual events will commence from Monday, 6 July, and just because we’re online, doesn’t mean we can’t have fun. We’re preparing a range of resources including personalised digital name badges. Use your name badge to introduce yourself in Zoom sessions and share on social media. When you have completed activities like the OTV and/or Boost sessions you can add these certifications to your name badge.
