What to do at the end of term

So, you’ve made it to the end of term, now what?

You’re probably ready to take a well-deserved break, but before you disconnect, there are a few important things you should consider.

#1 – Complete your Unit and Teaching Evaluations

This is your opportunity to evaluate your course units, as well as the individual teaching styles for those units. Your feedback is important as it provides our teaching staff and schools with actionable insights on how we can best improve our units for future terms.

Evaluations open towards the end of the term, usually week 9. Check your student email for your personalised link to complete your evaluations.

#2 – Note the upcoming key dates

Once you’ve submitted your final assessment items (and checked you have submitted them), go ahead and mark the Certification of Grades date in your calendar. This is the date final grades for the term will be released and can be found in the Key Dates calendar of the CQUni Handbook. Find out more about Grades.

#3 – Plan ahead and enrol for next term

If you plan to study next term, get in early and enrol online. For instructions on how to enrol, refer to our Instruction Sheet. Check your Course Planners to see if you are meeting your course requirements. These are available on our website.

If you are on track to graduate, check the registration closing date for graduation ceremonies and add the conferral date to your calendar. Visit www.cqu.edu.au/graduation.

#4 – Consider a health check!

Staying healthy is important and sometimes we get too busy to book a check-up. Take some time over the break to get a health check.

International students should check with their overseas student health cover (OSHC) provider to see what is covered.

#5 – Textbook check

Make sure you have returned any borrowed Library textbooks and resources and paid any late fees.

Also, consider selling your used textbooks. There is a range of channels you can use such as Facebook groups.

#6– Celebrate and relax!

Finally, don’t forget to celebrate – you’ve earned it! Spend some time with family and friends, or relax and unwind with a day of Netflix. Make sure you take some time out for yourself and recharge your batteries.
