The when and where of grades release

Certification of Grades refers to the date that final grades or interim results are released to students. On this date, a process occurs during which the final grades or interim results for each HE unit are released for that term.

The Certification of Grades date for each term can be found in the Key Dates calendar of the CQUni Handbook. For Term 1 2022, grades will be released on Friday, 8 July 2022.

Here are the answers to some commonly asked questions about Certification of Grades…

How do I access my grades?

Grades can be accessed from MyCQU at http://my.cqu.edu.au.

When you arrive on the login page, there will be a pop-up directing you to view your grades. This will only appear on the evening that grades are released. After that, your grades will be available in the Study view of MyCQU, against each unit.

What should I do if my grade isn’t available?

In the lead-up to Certification of Grades, staff will be working to ensure that all students receive their grades as soon as possible.

Don’t panic if a grade is not available immediately. Wait until the following Monday and if a grade is still unavailable, contact your Unit Coordinator.

What do my grades mean?

If you receive your grades, only to find yourself confused about what they mean, Grades Explained may help answer your questions.

Where final grades are pending, interim results (e.g. RO, PO, DE, DA, SE, SA) are also released to students.

If you receive an interim result instead of a grade, this means a final grade is yet to be decided. Grades Explained outlines what each interim result means.

If you’re still unsure, contact your Unit Coordinator for clarification.

What should I do if I need a second opinion?

A Review of Grade is a formal process that can be requested after all avenues of informal consultation have been exhausted and there are still continuing concerns about the process of how the grade was awarded.  For more information, visit our Policy website and search for ‘Review of Grade Procedure’.

If you’re considering applying for a Review of Grade, it’s important to make yourself aware of the process and more importantly, the timelines. This information is documented in the Review of Grade Fact Sheet.

If you need assistance with this process, our Student Advocacy Officers can be reached at student-advocacy@cqu.edu.au.

How can I apply for an exit or interim award?

If you are considering applying for an exit or interim award, you must apply to the Course Advice Team.

Please note that not all courses provide the option for interim and/or exit awards. Please check the CQUni Handbook to see if this option is relevant for your degree.

Am I eligible to graduate?

If you are scheduled to complete your course, you don’t need to notify us. There is an automatic process that is undertaken each term.

All students eligible to graduate will be contacted by email after the Graduation Evaluation Period.
