Having recently come on board as a new Engineering Lecturer, Dr Farzaneh Tahmoorian has already made CQUniversity’s Mackay Ooralea campus her home. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere has made her settling in much easier and she is looking forward to a successful career in teaching and research at CQUni.

What is the the best thing about being at CQUni?
The fact that CQUni is so spread out provides an opportunity to visit other campuses and get acquainted with faculty staff and facilities.
What is the best thing about your campus?
I appreciate the friendly environment and the inclusive culture at the Mackay Ooralea campus.
If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?
I would change one thing: that all children have security, peace, life necessities, education and love. Through education, I am hoping to bring the recognition of world affairs to my students.
What’s the best way that a student has surprised you?
As a new teacher, the best surprise has been my students’ feedback, appreciating my efforts to teach in my classes.

What do you love most about your role?
I love teaching and interacting with students, conducting research to improve the state of knowledge in my field, and also, interacting with different faculty members and multidisciplinary research.
Which country in the world would you most like to visit?
Spain.
