Changing 25 students’ lives in 25 days

Did you know financial stress is one of the top four reasons for students not completing their study?

We know university isn’t always easy and the stress of financial barriers can make it hard for our students to achieve success. At CQUni, we care about you and want to help eliminate the barriers which make it hard to be what you want to be.

This week CQUni launched its annual CQUniCares appeal with an aim to raise enough funds in 25 days to offer 25 scholarships to 25 of our deserving students!

Want to know how you can help us change the lives of 25 students? Keep reading…

How will the appeal help students?

Thanks to the generosity of our partners and donor community, scholarships help students to be what they want to be. Through the appeal we aim to give 25 new scholarships in 2018, that will reduce the financial stress of study and enable student success. Take CQUni Allied Health student Nyssa, for example. Nyssa is a recipient of the Adam Scott Foundation scholarship which has helped her pay for her course fees, textbooks, uniforms and placement costs. As a mum of two, Nyssa knows all too well the financial burdens life can present you with, and receiving a scholarship means Nyssa can give herself and her two daughters the best opportunities in life.

I am a CQUni alumnus, who graduated back in 2010. Straight after graduating, I took a job in media, and later returned to CQUni working full-time as Student Communications Assistant. I remember all too well the panic fuelled ‘all-nighters’, getting lost on campus, confusion over systems, and the general feeling of being unsure. I'm excited to share my experiences and provide some insights into university life.
