CQUniversity has a single sign on (SSO) page to make your sign on experience easier and more reliable.
But in order to make the sign in process to our CQUni sites even easier within Google Chrome, we will be enabling the Single Sign On browser extension from Monday, 6 August.
This will mean, with this extension enabled on your computer, you will be automatically logged into to the majority of our CQUni sites if you’re accessing them through Google Chrome.
Other than making your sign in process easier, this change won’t have any other noticeable effects.

Why do we use SSO?
CQUniversity changed providers in 2017, from OpenAM to ADFS. Making this change has allowed for even better integration of single sign on for you, and is better able to be supported, providing you with greater reliability and better service.
Applications that use SSO are:
- Library Search
- (Libcal) Library Study Room Bookings
- MyCourses (Student Portal)
- Moodle HE
- Moodle VET
- Sonia; and
Cybersecurity – remember to stay safe!
It is always good practice to take note of the url you are clicking through to. You should always look for a green lock, as well as ‘adfs.cqu.edu.au’ in the SSO link.
With the changes to Single Sign On Browser extension coming this Monday, 6 August you may notice this little guy beside your URL bar in the Chrome browser once we enable this, but don’t worry about him – he’s just there to make sure it is all working smoothly! He will normally appear blank, however, once you’re successfully logged into a CQUni site, a blue ‘CQUni’ banner will appear across the icon.
